SUBJECT: Approval of Women's Softball as a Varsity Sport
DISPOSTION: To the presiding officer for implementation
Whereas: The women's softball program functioned as a club sport in 1983-84
and developed the necessary foundation to become a varsity sport, and
Whereas: For 1984-85, squad participants, schedule of competition, playing
sites in Fort Wayne, and budgetary provisions are all available for the
program to function as a varsity sport, and
Whereas: The Office of Athletics recommends that women's softball be approved
for varsity status, effective with the 1984-85 spring season,
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the IPFW women's softball program be approved for varsity
status, effective with the 1984-85 spring season.
