SUBJECT: Student Data Records

WHEREAS rapid faculty access to a variety of statistics on student performance could enhance the undergraduate experience through such factors as improving the quality of advising, identifying students at high risk for academic problems, and evaluating the adequacy of prerequisites;

RESOLVED that the design and implementation of phase III of the student data base project include maximizing the number of identifiable fields in each student record;

RESOLVED that the registrar solicit faculty requests for the types of student performance statistics they would find useful;

RESOLVED that the statistical software to achieve the requested statistics be incorporated in phase III of the student data base project; and

RESOLVED that these options be made available to faculty as soon as possible.
