Subject: Review of academic units
Resolved, That the Office of Academic Affairs
be responsible for conducting a review of each academic unit (school/division)
and department on a recurring 3-to-6-year schedule. The process shall include
review of the unit's administrative officers (deans, department chairs,
and other unit administrative officers as deemed appropriate), curriculum,
and intra- and interdepartmental relations, among other areas of interest.
Within general guidelines established by the campus administration, the
administration, faculty, and staff of each academic unit shall develop
written procedures for the organization, conduct, and analysis of the review.
By agreement of all parties, the review may be an integral part of a more-general
evaluation such as those conducted by an external review or accrediting
body. Feedback available from the review shall be provided to the administrative,
faculty, and staff participants. The Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
shall report to the Fort Wayne Senate each year concerning the number and
general nature of the reviews.
