Women's and Men's Indoor/Outdoor Track Teams

To the Presiding Officer for implementation

WHEREAS, there is a strong local and regional interest in track at the high school level; and

WHEREAS, there is strong student interest in an intercollegiate track program at IPFW; and

WHEREAS, the ability of existing women's and men's cross-country teams to recruit student athletes will be significantly enhanced; and

WHEREAS, IPFW will be able to utilize existing local and regional track facilities for training, practice, and competitions;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That planning be instituted to allow IPFW to add the varsity sports of women's and men's indoor/outdoor track teams as soon as possible; and

BE IT RESOLVED, That IPFW have women's and men's indoor/outdoor track as one of its GLVC sports.
