DATE:                  November 6, 2003

SUBJ:                    IPFW Repeat Policy

DISPOSITION:     For information only

Whereas there has been confusion about the applicability of the IPFW Repeat Policy to IU affiliated programs, EPC wants to clarify publicly that the IPFW Repeat Policy applies to all IPFW students, whether in IU or PU affiliated programs, and for all courses taken at IPFW.  The Policy states:

A student may retake any course.  Unless the course is described in the Bulletin or its supplement as repeatable for credit, credit will be given only once for a repeated course, and only the most recent grade earned will be incorporated in GPA calculations.  (SD 85‑18: Academic Regulations, 6.6.3).

The Registrar will make any needed corrections on IPFW student records at the end of Fall Semester 2003 for all currently enrolled students, and will repeat the correction for the next several terms to assure that all active records have been corrected.  For now, corrections to the IU record will continue to be made using the "FX Grade Update" form.

Faculty and advisors should address any questions to the Registrar.
