SUBJ:                          Updates to Senate Reference No. 00-11

 

WHEREAS, IPFW intends to offer Weekend College courses in the summer sessions beginning in summer 2004; and

 

WHEREAS, Senate Reference No. 00-11, IPFW Academic Calendar Formula, needs to be updated in order to include the Weekend College schedule; therefore,

 

RESOLVED, That Senate Reference No. 00-11 be updated as follows:

 

SUMMER SESSIONS

 

        1.         There shall be a one-week break for weekday classes between the end of the spring semester and the beginning of the summer sessions.  The first day of weekday class of the first summer session shall be the Monday following this break.

      3 2.      The first day of weekday class of the second summer session shall be the Monday immediately following the end of the first summer session.

3.         Weekend College classes shall begin on the Friday evening preceding the starting dates for weekday classes in Summer I and Summer II, and may be variable in length. The Weekend College start date, if any, shall be publicized as the beginning of that summer session.

2. 4.     Memorial Day (Observed), the 4th Monday in May, and Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, shall be a holiday.  Classes will not meet.

4.5.      July 4 shall be a holiday.  Classes will not meet on July 4 when it falls on a weekday.  Classes will not meet on Friday, July 3, when July 4 falls on a Saturday.  Classes will not meet on Monday, July 5, when July 4 falls on a Sunday.  The Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday including, or closest to, July 4 shall also be holidays when classes do not meet.
