92-1
(Approved, 5/5/1993)
Resolved, That the Faculty of Indiana University-Purdue University
Fort Wayne, in convocation assembled,
Commend the successful attempts of the IPFW Community Advisory Council
to protect the interests of the campus and of the community during the
late stages of renegotiating the IPFW Management Agreement:
By ensuring that the university affiliations of students enrolled at IPFW
will remain unchanged under the new Management Agreement
By securing President Beering's acceptance of the policy that Indiana University
employees hired at Fort Wayne during the five-year period of the Management
Agreement will have a relationship to IU identical to that of IU employees
hired earlier, except that they will be placed into the Purdue University
payroll and fringe-benefits system
By securing President Beering's acceptance of the policy that continuing
Indiana University employees at Fort Wayne will retain in its entirety
their relationship with their employer, while being offered the option
of electing the Purdue University payroll and fringe-benefits program.

(Approved, 5/5/1993)
Resolved, That the Faculty of Indiana University-Purdue University
Fort Wayne, in convocation assembled,
Deplore the repeated refusals of the presidents of Indiana University and
Purdue University to consult in good faith with the Faculty or their representatives
during the process of renegotiating the Management Agreement, or even to
furnish the Faculty or their representatives with a copy of the proposed
Management Agreement; and
Condemn the presidents' evident failure to give serious consideration to
proposals--unanimously endorsed by the Management Agreement Committee,
the Senate, the administration, and the Community Advisory Council of IPFW--designed
to afford the university essential degrees of fiscal autonomy and other
forms of operational flexibility.

Recommend that the Boards of Trustees of Indiana and Purdue universities
endorse the agreements (listed in FCD 92-1) between the IPFW Community

The faculty wants especially to call to the Boards' attention its position
that the university affiliations of students enrolled at IPFW and the employment
as well as appointments, titles, privileges and obligations of the IU faculty
hired during the term of the new Management Agreement remain the same as
those enjoyed/held by the students and IU faculty under what will become
the preceding management agreement.
