MEMORANDUM

TO: The Senate

SUBJ: Chancellor Search and Screen Committee

DISPOSITION: To the Presiding Officer for implementation

WHEREAS, Chancellor Joanne Lantz has announced that she will resign her position effective 1 July 1994;

AND WHEREAS, a search for her successor will begin during the current semester;

AND WHEREAS, the IPFW community has a vital and legitimate interest in the search for and the selection of the next Chancellor;

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, the IPFW Senate recommends that a search and screen committee chaired by the chair of the IPFW Community Advisory Council, or that officer's designee, and composed of members chosen from nominees proposed by the Faculty, students, administrative staff, clerical and service staff, and alumni be given the responsibility of proposing candidates for the position of IPFW Chancellor and further that in keeping with past practice a majority of the members of this committee be members of the Faculty.
