MEMORANDUM

SUBJ:              Approval of replacement members of the Calendar, Library, and Professional Development Subcommittees, Honors Program Council, and Faculty Affairs Committee

DISPOSITION:  To the Presiding Officer for implementation

 WHEREAS, The Bylaws of the Senate provide (5.1.2.) that “… Senate Committees … shall have the power to fill Committee vacancies for the remainder of an academic year, subject to Senate approval at its next regular meeting”; and

WHEREAS, There is a vacancy on the Calendar Subcommittee; and

WHEREAS, The Calendar Subcommittee has appointed Stella Batagiannis as the replacement member for the remainder of the 2008-09 academic year; and

WHEREAS, There is a vacancy on the Library Subcommittee; and

WHEREAS, The Library Subcommittee has appointed Mary Cooper as the replacement member for the remainder of the 2008-09 academic year; and

WHEREAS, There are two vacancies on the Faculty Affairs Committee; and

WHEREAS, The Faculty Affairs Committee has appointed Judith Garrison and Karen Moustafa as the replacement members for the remainder of the 2008-09 academic year; and

WHEREAS, There are two vacancies on the Honors Program Council; and

WHEREAS, The Honors Program Council has appointed Prasad Bingi and Jeffrey Casazza as the replacement members for the remainder of the 2008-09 academic year; and

WHEREAS, There is a vacancy on the Professional Development Subcommittee; and

WHEREAS, The Professional Development Subcommittee has appointed Sarah Beckman as the replacement member for the remainder of the 2008-09 academic year;

BE IT RESOLVED, That the Senate approve these appointments.
