the temporary lot 6 and restoring it as green area

motion to SD 02-4
DATE:
DISPOSITION: To the Presiding Officer for
implementation
Whereas, there is very little support from
the faculty of IPFW to pave and expand the temporary parking Lot 6; and
Whereas,
there is mixed support from students of IPFW to pave and expand the temporary
parking Lot 6; and
Whereas, it is the interest of both
students and faculty to have a beautiful campus, including a clean river with
an attractive bank; and
Whereas, it is in the interest of the
public of the city of Fort Wayne, Allen County, and northeast Indiana to have a
clean, healthy river; and
Whereas, it is the role of the regional
public university to lead the way in providing stewardship for the care of the
rivers in northeastern
Whereas, the Fort Wayne Senate was told by
the administration that the temporary parking Lot 6 is not safe in this form;
and
Whereas, the Fort Wayne Senate was told by
the administration that the maintenance of the temporary parking Lot 6 is
expensive; and
Be It Resolved, to recommend to the
administration to close the temporary parking Lot 6, and to restore it as green
area; and
Be It Resolved, that the wording of this
substitute motion shall be: “The Senate recommends to the administration to
close parking Lot 6 and restore it as green area, and to find other alternative
options to solve the parking problem.”
