SUBJ: Recommendations to the administration regarding the next biennial budget
DISPOSITION: To the presiding officer for action
Resolved, That the Senate recommends to the administration that the following priorities be considered in the next biennial budget now being prepared. These priorities are presented without ranking.
1. There should be a substantial increase in library funding.
2. The Fine Arts building should be fully funded.
3. Department S & E budgets should be increased.
4. The comparatively low clerical salaries should be increased in order to attract and retain quality secretarial help.
5. Inequities in faculty salaries should be addressed. Some problem areas which ought to be addressed are:
a) differences in salary averages between departments
b) differences in salaries between men and women
c) differences in salaries paid to new hires compared to continuing faculty
d) differences in salary averages between ranks
