2011-2012 Junior & Senior Division Registration Procedures

SEFI (Science Education Foundation of Indiana) the organization that oversees state-wide fair guidelines and maintains consistent standards for Regional Fairs, has instituted a centralized registration procedure for all fairs. SEFI also provide funding for the Indiana senior division students who advance to the International Science and Engineering Fair.

Teachers must be registered on the SEFI website. If you have not previously registered, go to www.sefi.org and click on the word “REGISTRATION” at the top of the home page followed by "REGISTER ONLINE" and follow directions.

Junior Division Regional Fair Registration

Step-by-Step Directions for Teachers to Register Grade 6-8 Students for the Regional Fair at www.sefi.org
Please print and use directions to make sure correct fields are completed.
Junior Division (grades 6-8)= 5 projects Each school that includes grades 6-8 may register a total of 5 eligible student projects encompassing those three grades. A team project may have up to 3 students. This counts as one project for advancement to the regional fair.
K-6 schools: 5 entries for grade K-5 and 2 entries for grade 6

  • Remit the project entry fee of $10. Check or money order must be made payable to IPFW (cash cannot be accepted). Please indicate your school and the names of the registrants. Payment must be received by 5 PM on Thursday, March 15 and may be mailed to:

    Registration and postmarked paperwork deadline:

Senior Division Regional Fair Registration
Senior Division = 15 projects Each school that includes grades 9-12 may register a total of 15 eligible student projects encompassing those four grades. A team project may have up to 3 students. This counts as one project for advancement to the regional fair.
  • Senior Division teachers must register themselves before a student can access the site for online eligibility questions and ISEF forms. See above.
  • Senior Division students must complete all of their Student and Project information and ISEF forms on the SEFI website
  • All projects that required pre-experimentation review must have completed this eligibility process by Jan. 25, 2012.

  • On the SEFI website, Senior Division teachers are able to register their eligible students for the Regional Fair by clicking the appropriate button on their Teacher Page.
  • For team projects, all students complete their information but only the Team Leader's name needs to be registered for the regional fair. Team member info will automatically be registered with that project.
