PLEASE READ FIRST

Registration is now closed.

2009 Online Registration will be available February 18, 2009

Registration for grades K - 5 must be completed by the teacher or school science fair coordinator

Elementary Division = 5 projects

Each school that includes grades K-5 may register a total of 5 eligible student projects encompassing those grades.

ALL K-5 students must register for the Regional Fair by 5 pm Friday, March 13, 2009. LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. To ensure that registration is completed properly, teachers/school science fair coordinators should register their students.

**FOR ELEMENTARY REGISTRATION**
There is a DROP DOWN BOX to indicate IF a student's project falls into any of 8 Special Award category groups. (Special awards are those sponsored by individuals, local businesses, science, and engineering associations.) For some projects, none of the categories will apply. For those that do apply, check all that pertain from the following Special Award category group choices:

  • Computer/Math
  • Engineering/Manufacturing/Physics
  • Energy conservation/Alternative energy
  • Environment/Conservation/Water Resources
  • Food/Agriculture
  • Medicine/Healthy Living
  • Oral/Dental Health
  • Veterinary/Animal Science
  • NONE OF THE ABOVE

Please find out which Special Award category groups your five elementary entries may include before you begin online registration.
By identifying which elementary projects fit these categories we hope to make judging for special awards more efficient for both the student and the judges and ultimately reduce the amount of time the students wait to be released from judging. Some or all of your projects may not have any category groups that apply and that is OK. This is a sorting tool for those that do. Please alert students/parents that projects in categories with special sponsored awards may be visited by multiple judging groups. This does not signify that a project is better than others or assured of an award. Projects not in a special sponsored award category are still valued and important.

Students in grades K-5 participate in the Elementary Division. Registration for Elementary Division students involves two (2) steps:

Step 1: Complete and submit the on-line registration form for each project being registered. (In the event of team projects, only 1 registration form needs to be done for the team.) If your school does not appear in the drop down box, you must first affiliate through the website www.ipfw.edu/scifair/ and click on Educator Affiliation Form.

Step 2: Remit the project entry fee of $10. Check or money order must be made payable to IPFW (cash cannot be accepted). Please indicate the last names of the registrants on the memo line. Payment must be received by 5 PM on Thursday, March 19 and mailed to:
