Safe Zone Subcommittee
The Safe Zone Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the Diversity Council. This year (2005-06) the subcommittee is studying options for an institutional “home” for Safe Zone on campus. Many other colleges and universities have Safe Zone or “Allies” programs. Models under consideration include:
- a free-standing office or center for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, and Transgendered inviduals and their Allies (LGBTA)
- a program that reports to the Dean of Students
- a program that reports to the Office of Multicultural Services.
