Logging in for the First Time

  1. Go to http://ipfw.sona-systems.com/.
  2. Type in your IPFW user ID as your username (first 4 letters of your last name, first initial, middle initial, and two digits (usually 01 but might be 02 or 03)). This user ID is usually the same as your IPFW e-mail address...everything before the @ipfw.edu.
  3. Important!! Type in your DATE OF BIRTH (x/x/xxxx) as your password.
  4. Enter your birthdate and click Continue.
  5. Complete the demographic survey and click Continue.
  6. You will arrive at the main page.

Logging in After the First Time

  1. Go to http://ipfw.sona-systems.com/.
  2. Type in your username and password. Click the Login button when you are finished.
  3. You will arrive at the main page.

Signing Up For Experiments

  1. After you have logged in, click Study Sign Up. The experiments will be listed, along with the number of credits and the number of available time slots.
  2. To sign up for a particular experiment, click on that experiment name. You wil then see a dialog box filled with ifnormatin about the experiment: name, description, duration, points available, and researcher information.
  3. Below the dialog box you will see in large blue letters: "View Time Slots For This Study". Click that to sign up for a time that works for you.
  4. Click the button that says "Sign Up".
  5. You will then see a screen that says "Study Signup Completed!" And you may print that off for your records. This is strongly recommended so that you can have a record of where and when your appointment is.

To Cancel an Appointment

  • If it is MORE than one hour before your appointment:
    1. Log in http://ipfw.sona-systems.com/
    2. Click on My Schedule/Credits.
    3. Click the Cancel button to the right of the experiment you wish to cancel.
    4. You will then be prompted with a message asking if you are sure you want to cancel or not. Choose the appropriate option.
  • If it is LESS than one hour before your appointment:
    1. Call (260)481-5441 ext. 19292# - YOU MUST PRESS THE POUND KEY! (this is a voice mail system).
    2. Leave a message stating your name, the experiment name, and the day and time of your appointment. PLEASE SPEAK SLOWLY, CLEARLY, AND LOUDLY! PLEASE SPELL YOUR LAST NAME! If we cannot understand your name, we cannot cancel your appointment.
