Welcome to University Police
Mission Statement
"To protect and serve the campus community by providing a safe environment through enforcement, service and education."
Message from the Chief
The IPFW University Police Department exists to serve all people with respect and fairness.
We are committed to the prevention of crime and the protection of life and property; the preservation of peace, order, and safety; the enforcement of laws and regulations; and the safeguarding of ones Constitutional rights.
We seek to create a safe and secure campus environment in which the educational mission of the University can be realized free of crime.
With community service as our foundation, we are driven by goals that enhance the quality of life for all in our community. We seek solutions to problems that detract from that quality, thereby fostering a sense of comfort and security in our community.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of performance and professionalism.
Jeffrey W. Davis
The Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne Police Department is staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Our personnel includes fifteen police officers, two safety officers, and five clerk/dispatchers. Our department works closely with local law enforcement agencies and solicits information on any criminal activity of students that may occur at off-campus locations. Through agreement with the City of Fort Wayne we have been authorized jurisdiction throughout the city.
