Timothy T. Grove, Ph.D.

Associate Professor

Bio:

Timothy Grove began at IPFW in the fall of 1998 and is now performing optical non-linear laser physics research. Previously, he studied an atom-based optical correlator system as a National Research Council Post-Doctoral Fellow at Hanscom Air Force Base, and trapped neutral atoms with laser fields as a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in physics from the University of Connecticut (1988, 1994). His doctoral thesis was “Rectified forces in Rubidium” (Simply stated this work explored the forces applied by intense laser fields on neutral, cold rubidium atoms). Timothy Grove graduated from Lehigh University with a B.S. in engineering physics (1986).
