The IPFW Grant-in-Aid of Research or Creative Activity
will provide support to faculty research and scholarship,
initiate new faculty research or creative activities,
or supply modest support at unusually critical times.

IPFW Overseas Conference Fund
The IPFW Overseas Conference Fund will award a limited
number of supplemental grants for those tenured and tenure-track faculty invited to present at an overseas conference fund.
No support will be given for conferences in
Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the United States or its dependencies.

PRF International Travel Grant
APPLICATION DEADLINE: June 1, 2010
There are a limited number of PRF International Travel Grants available for 2010-2011.
Travel must occur between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011.
These grants ($1,000.00) support a portion of travel costs for those tenured or tenure-track faculty who will have an active role (presenting a paper or serving as an official) at a recognized international meeting. Other research-related travel is not eligible for support under this program. Trips to Canada, Mexico, or Puerto Rico are considered domestic travel and are ineligible for support from this program.
Preference will be given to those who have already had participation confirmed; who have never received support from this program; or have not received support from this program within the three preceding fiscal years. Recipients must continue employment with IPFW in the fiscal year following (2011-2012). IU paid faculty are not eligible to apply for or receive this grant.
To apply: download and fill out the required cover sheet. Include evidence, if available, that your paper has been accepted by the conference organizers for presentation. If such evidence is not available, an award may be made contingent upon receipt of confirmation of participation.

IU Overseas Conference Fund Grants
Partial support for faculty to attend an international conference to present a competitively selected paper. Only those faculty in IU academic mission departments who are or will be tenured by Indiana University are eligible.
Awards: Between $300 and $800
Deadlines: October 1, January 15, April 1, July 1

The Office of Academic Affairs offers Summer Grants for
Research for faculty. These grants provide fiscal support
for two months of uninterrupted innovative scholarly
research by IPFW faculty. Projects supported by these
grants should facilitate professional growth, provide
opportunities for external funding, or represent a
renewal of the applicant’s research.

IU - OVPR New Frontiers in the Arts and Humanities Program
ELIGIBILITY: IPFW faculty in IU mission departments who are, or will be, tenured with Indiana University.
New Frontiers Grants (grants up to $50,000)
Funds to assist in the development of innovative works of scholarship and creative activities in the arts and humanities.
New Directions Grants (grants up to $50,000)
Will fund New Frontiers-type projects, but proposals must involve collaboration among faculty members from two or more schools, departments, institutes, or other units. At least one of the units should be in a field traditionally associated with the arts and humanities.
New Perspectives Grants (grants up to $20,000)
Funds for workshops, symposia, small conferences, roundtables, and master classes that offer new perspectives on, and new insights into, areas of scholarship and research in the arts and humanities.
Exploration Traveling Fellowshop Grants (grants up to $2,500)
Funds for travel that is "exploratory" in the sense of helping faculty members in the initial stages of new research projects or creative acitvities. Travel to conferences or other venues to present work that is already well advanced is not eligible for support.
Illustration Services Grant
Faculty needing illustration services can submit requests online through the URC office: www.ipfw.edu/publications
Projects will be evaluated for submission based on whether they fit the following criteria:
a. Supports research for scholarly activities only
b. Not a classroom aid
If there is a question of qualification, the request will be forwarded to ORES for approval or rejection; they will discuss the project with the requestor, department chairs and deans and notify URC if it is to be accepted.
Projects requiring more than a couple of hours work will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis using more stringent criteria.
All awards are made based on funding availability.
IPFW Graduate Research Assistantships
The Office of Graduate Studies and the Office of Research and External Support offer two Graduate Research Assistantships. The purpose of the awards is to support IPFW strategic initiatives and to further graduate student research goals. The OGS Research Assistantship and the ORES Research Assistantship will be awarded competitively to graduate students who have demonstrated excellent potential for pursuing research.
