Human Resources Option

Students in the human resources option will:

  • Improve their skills to promote organizational diversity
  • Develop and manage compensation plans
  • Develop and implement training and career development programs
  • Develop and maintain human resources policies and procedures

Core Requirements = 12 credit hours

OLS 525 Organizational Analysis and Action

Human Resources Option = 18 credit hours

OLS 545 Compensation and Benefits
OLS 555 Workforce Planning & Employment
OLS 565 Employee Relations
OLS 575 Contemporary Employment Practices & the Law
OLS 585 Health, Safety and Security
One elective (approved by advisor) for example:

  • Leadership option course
  • Graduate course from outside OLS
  • OLS 577 Organization & Administration of the Training Function
  • OLS 590 Special topics

Research Requirements = 6 credit hours

Research skills course (approved by advisor)
OLS 680 Research in OLS
