GLO: Girls Leading Others
Overview
GLO: Girls Leading Others is one of the newest youth initiative
programs at Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW).Aimed at developing the leadership skills of girls entering 7th-12th grades, the program was first offered in June 2004 by the Division of Organizational Leadership and Supervision (OLS). High school peer advisors and IPFW student mentors also enhence their skills during the week.

GLO Is...
Five days of leadership training where girls can:
- Uncover their leadership potential
- Acquire tools and skills that can be applied to every day relationships, school work, and community service
- Immediately utilize new leadership and team building skills to accomplish some fun goals throughout the week
- Take home a personal leadership action plan for the future
- Build relationships with other girls— friendships that could last a lifetime
GLO Is..
Five days of technology training where girls can:
- Discover an aptitude for technology use
- Work individually and collaboratively on computer projects that they can replicate at home or school
- Develop Web pages, e-mail, do research on the Web, or complete simple videos about themselves and their teams
- Take home stories of women who have been leaders in engineering, math, and technological innovations, as well as community leaders
