Who should attend STARS?

All First Year, Graduate, Re-Entry, Second Degree and Transfer students are eligible to attend. Spouses, parents, and significant others are also encouraged to attend.

When and where is STARS?

The program takes place Tuesday, August 14, 2012, 5-8:30 p.m. in the ballroom of Walb Student Union. Refer to the campus map for location of building and parking.

Is there a cost for attending STARS?

There's no cost to attend STARS. Snacks & beverages will be provided by your Indiana Purdue Student Government Association.

Do I register for my courses during STARS?

No. All students should be registered for their courses prior to the date of STARS. You are encouraged to meet with your advisor and register for your courses well in advance of this event in order to optimize your chances of receiving the courses that you wish to attend.

What are the requirements for obtaining my Mastodon ID Card?

Please Note: Due to the high volume of students obtaining their Mastodon ID Cards during this time you may be required to pick up your completed card at a later date.

Does my entry status require me to attend SOAR?

Your entry status may require you to attend SOAR. Please refer to the SOAR Web site or contact the Student Life office at 260-481-6609 to verify whether you are required to attend or not. Please be advised that the earlier you attend SOAR the more you optimize your chances of receiving the courses that you wish to attend.

May I substitute my required SOAR attendance by attending STARS instead?

No, STARS cannot substitute your required attendance at SOAR. However, you are still welcome and encouraged to attend STARS in addition.
