Shredding & Printer Maintenance Agreements

 Shredding

Shred-It is our paper shredding provider. Shred-It comes to campus every 4 weeks on a Friday for the monthly shredding cycle.  Be advised: Although the shredding is done on-site special steps must be taken for departments  shredding documents that contain protected health information.  Contact Pam Thompson to discuss. Here is some information for your department if you are in need of regular shredding services or a one-time service:

Monthly Paper Shredding Contract:

  • Shred-It will provide your department with a locked shredding container that will be picked up once a month at a cost of $9.88/month per bin (36” x 20” x 19.5”).
  • Any paper overflow you may have will need to be in boxes.  If you don’t have the material in boxes, Shred-It will provide bags for you to fill.  Here are the rates for overflow material:

            * Small Boxes sized 12 “x 10.5” x 15” (roughly the size of our copier paper boxes) are $3.12 each

            * Large Boxes sized 12” x 10.5” x 24” are $5.20 each

            * Paper bagged with Shred-It bags are $9.88 per bag (holds the same amount of paper as the bin)

  • All shredding is done on-site and no materials are taken off campus before being shredded.
  • If your department will have shred in addition to the bin, please notify Pam Thompson with the amount so that Shred-It can be contacted in advance of the normal collection date.  This will allow Shred-It to schedule service without long delays if there is additional shred at any of their stops.

 

One-time Service for Departments without a Contract:

  • Shred-It will pick up and shred for any department on campus, even if there is no monthly contract.  This is a good alternative for the departments who do not regularly have much shredding if scheduled during Shred-It’s regular monthly shredding cycle (see Be Advised below).
  • Materials must be in boxes.  If you don’t have the material in boxes, Shred-It will provide bags for you to fill.  Here are the rates:

            * Large Boxes sized 12” x 10.5” x 24” are $5.20 each

Be Advised: There is a minimum charge of $75 if your pick-up is arranged for a day outside the Shred-It regular campus monthly shredding service which is on a Friday every 4 weeks.

All shredding services must be reported to Pam Thompson who will contact Shred-It to arrange pick-up.  You will be invoiced for this service.
