Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne places a high priority on student retention. In an effort to assist in the retention and academic success of students of diverse, first-generation, and lower-income college students including Perkins Grant, Twenty-first Century Scholars, and Summer Bridge students, the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs has initiated the Academic Student Achievement Program (ASAP!).
ASAP! is a student success initiative designed to retain a diverse group of students including those of various ethnicities, ages, and socioeconomic statuses. The program focuses on three areas: academic monitoring (early intervention), student and leadership development, and career and professional development.
Academic Coaching and Monitoring
ASAP! Provides academic coaching and monitors student success and through SAGE, an electronic early alert system. IPFW faculty submit progress alerts the 6th week of each semester through SAGE, which allows the ASAP! Coaches to provide proactive academic coaching to improve your performance in the classroom or connect the student to the many resources at IPFW.

Student and Leadership Development
The ASAP! program works collaboratively with our partners to provide positive leadership and experiences for personal growth and development. ASAP! meets monthly to encourage social and cultural interaction by providing lunch and guest lecturers. Take a moment to browse the schedule of Leadership Activities.
ASAP! participants are eligible to receive credit on their Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT).
CCT is a program for recording awards, scholarships, community service, educational workshops, programs, leadership activities, student government, and organizations. By recording activities outside of the classroom, the CCT complements you academic transcript when you apply to graduate shool or search for a job.
