2014 New Student Orientation

Fall 2014 New Student Orientation

It's that time of year! New students attending IPFW with less than 15 college credits will need to attend our New Student Orientation! It's your first step towards academic success and whole lot of fun!

There's two parts to orientation: online and on-campus. As soon as you receive your acceptance letter, activate your myIPFW account and begin checking your e-mail for a message from It will contain a link to complete the online portion of orientation through our e-learning system (good practice for when you begin your classes!).

You'll complete the online orientation and, at the end, schedule your College Day. Pick the earliest open College Day date that works for your schedule, because you'll be registering for classes while you're on campus that day. Make sure you take any necessary reading, writing, math and foreign language placement tests at least 24 hours before you come to campus, too, so you're ready to register.

You'll also need to keep an eye out for an e-mail from Career Services. It will give you the information you need to take the (required) iStart Strong assessment before your College Day.
