IPFW’s programs seek to prepare graduates for both careers and graduate school. The university provides support for graduates seeking employment and for those seeking admission to graduate and professional programs. The university does not offer placement services or calculate placement rates. The information in the following sections was gathered from 2011 and 2012 departmental newsletters and alumni publications, and it provides a series of examples of the kinds of employment and graduate school outcomes that have been achieved by recent IPFW graduates.
Two psychology graduates are employed as Assistant Professors. One works at Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne, while the other is employed at the University of Toledo.

One communication sciences and disorder graduate received their Au.D. (Doctor of Audiology) and is employed at the Hearing Health Center in downtown Chicago.
One accounting graduate was elected as the Allen County Auditor of Indiana.
Six geosciences graduates are working in the industries as environmental consultants, on Little River Wetland projects, or in the aggregate mineral sectors.
Two biology graduates are attending medical school. One was accepted at Indiana University Medical School, while the other is attending Ross University Medical School.

One is pursuing a counseling master's degree at Ball State University. One is at the University of Dayton and is enrolled in the science and education specialist program. One is attending Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne's marriage and family counselor education program. One is at Kent State University studying education.
Two psychology graduates are pursuing their Ph.D. at different universities. One is enrolled in the health and social psychology program at North Dakota State University, while the other is attending Purdue University and studying clinical psychology.
