Meet the Director

The mission of the IPFW Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) is to facilitate offering Dr. Carola range of distinctive Indiana University and Purdue University Master Degree programs, especially targeted professional Master Degree programs, and graduate certificates, important to the social, economic, cultural, and intellectual life of northeast Indiana.  Our graduate program with its dedicated and internationally- recognized faculty offers our graduates a set of unique skills and distinctive capabilities to make profound contributions to the market place not only in our region but also at the national and international arenas.  Also, our program prepares our graduates to further their graduate education at the doctoral level in the most prestigious institutions.  Our graduate program alumni have contributed to the discovery of new knowledge through their research and publications in the highest quality journals.  In addition, our program offers the proper training for teachers and administrators to shape the future of education in our region and the country.

Our graduate program offers 7 Indiana University Master Degrees in: Business; Education including counseling, educational leadership, elementary education, secondary education, and special education; English; Liberal Studies; Public Affairs; Public Management; and Sociological Practice.  Our program also offers 8 Purdue University Master Degrees in: Applied Computer Science, Biology; Engineering; Mathematical Sciences; Nursing; Organizational Leadership and Supervision; Professional Communication; and Technology.  In addition, advanced certificate programs are available in 5 areas including: Applied Statistics; Organizational Leadership; Public Management; Systems Engineering; and Teaching English as a New Language.  New graduate programs are always under development to meet the ever-growing and ever-changing needs of the region.

We offer over $1.16 million to support a number of graduate teaching, research, and professional administrative assistantships.  In addition, we offer a number of Chancellor Merit Awards to out-of-state and international graduate students to defray tuition to a state level rate.  We also offer a number of travel grants to help our graduate students present their research and scholarly activities at local and national meetings.
