Scholarship Database

Welcome to CWRA’s Scholarship Database!

In developing the database, our goal has been to put together as many scholarship resources as we can find for the student groups we serve: non-traditional students – both men and women – and women.  All of the scholarships listed in the database are open to non-traditional students. Non-traditional students are defined as college students for whom college is not their major responsibility. That means they’re working, raising children, caring for aging/disabled family members, or have other responsibilities besides their academic work.

The database is divided into two sections: 1) scholarships that are given exclusively to IPFW students, and are administered by the IPFW Financial Aid Office, and 2) scholarships that are open to students at IPFW and other colleges/universities, and are administered by outside organizations. To use the database most effectively, you should check out both sections.

IPFW SCHOLARSHIPS:

In 2011, IPFW’s Financial Aid Office introduced the “Common Scholarship Application,” which allows students to complete a single brief online application, and be automatically placed on the application list for all IPFW-based scholarships for which they are eligible. The eligibility criteria vary depending on the scholarship, but could include: major field, class standing, overall GPA, veteran status, etc.

You can check out a list and brief descriptions of all IPFW scholarships by clicking on the following link:

To complete the “Common Scholarship Application,” click on this link:

NOTE: To be considered for scholarships for the Fall 2013 semester, you must have completed the “Common Scholarship Application” by Feb. 1, 2013. (You can still file your application after that date, but your application will only be considered if there weren’t enough on-time applications for any specific scholarship.

SCHOLARSHIPS ADMINISTERED BY OUTSIDE ORGANIZATIONS:

The following scholarships are available both to IPFW students and those attending other institutions. They are organized by the criteria on which they are awarded, though most have more than one criterion.  Check out all the categories that apply to you.  Each entry contains a link that will take you to a webpage that includes the application or instructions for applying. Please read the criteria carefully. You don’t want to spend hours on an application and then discover that you don’t meet the eligibility criteria.

NOTE: If you live outside Allen County, in northeast Indiana or northwest Ohio, take a look at the last section, which contains links to community foundations in most counties that administer several scholarship funds. Most of the community foundation scholarships are geared toward new high school graduates, but the foundations listed on this database also administer scholarships that are open to – sometimes they are only open to – non-traditional students.

The CWRA staff is available to answer questions or offer additional advice for your scholarship search. You can reach us at creekj@ipfw.edu or by phone at 260.481.6029. (If you find a broken link or other glitches in the database, please shoot us an email, and we’ll fix it ASAP.)
