About the Scholars

Jessica Geyer

Jessica is an English major and a member of several clubs, including the SPSA and Sigma Tau Delta English Honors Society, of which she is treasurer and president, respectively. She is also the news editor of The Communicator, IPFW's student newspaper, and has held that positon since the beginning of the 2011-12 year. In 2010, she was awarded the Psi Iota Xi Award for Writing for her short story “Life Imitates Art,” which was published in Confluence literary magazine. She has participated in community service activities at Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, Taste of the Arts, Community Harvest, and participated in IPFW's The Big Event in 2012. Her senior project is to create a publication and reception to recognize the creative writing of area middle and high school students. After graduation Jessica plans to teach English in France for a year or teach English to refugees and immigrants in Fort Wayne, while pursuing her writing goals.
