Lauren Fulk is a senior Chapman Scholar from Avilla, Indiana in the Nursing Program at IPFW. She has worked at Parkview Regional Medical Center as a patient care technician for two years and plans on working in the same facility as a Registered Nurse after graduation. She has been involved in service work at Community Harvest, Matthew 25 Clinic, Neighborhood Health Clinic, Healthy Cities, The Big Event, Easter Seals Arc, youth volleyball clinics, and Zoo Halloween. Lauren enjoys reading non-nursing books, attending events at IPFW, and spending time with her fiancé, Erik Tom. Her senior project, entitled Improving Access for Northeast Indiana to Quality Healthcare, has enabled her to present to over 70 nursing undergraduates and faculty. In addition, this capstone project has allowed Lauren to travel to Indianapolis as an IPFW “Rising Stars” representative to present at Sigma Theta Tau International Leadership Convention 2014. She looks forward to graduation and continuing into graduate school for an eventual career as a nurse practitioner.
