In a February 2007 interview, Arthur Sulzberger, owner, chairman, and publisher of The New York Times, noted that, “I really don’t know if we’ll be printing the Times in five years, and you know what? I don’t care, either.” He was talking about the transition from print to digital that is rapidly unfolding all around us. From Kindle and Nook, and eReaders to media rich, interactive content the move from print to digital course materials in higher education is happening at an equally dizzying pace. But what does it all mean and why is it important? Join us for a half-day of exploration into the world of digital course materials in higher education. We will look at why digital is important and why it is more than just books. How it can impact our classrooms, engage students like never before, and innovate instruction. We will explore one of the adaptive learning platforms, Cengage’s MindTap, and experience a digital book environment in much the same way our students can. We will also see what is happening specifically at IPFW with digital course materials. Registration is required.
