Getting Your Login

Your login is the key that unlocks access to an array of resources, from your course management account in Blackboard Vista to classroom technologies to the Indiana University library, one of the finest library collections in the world, via the Helmke Library. Your department should have completed the necessary forms before you arrived. Contact your departmental secretary if you have not received your login. Contact Jan Nichols in ITS User Technology Support, (260) 481-6032, for new faculty accounts.

Computing Consultants with the ITS User Technology Support group can help you get started or answer your questions. To schedule an appointment with an Academic Computing Consultant contact the ITS Help Desk at (260) 481-6030.

Getting a University ID Card (Mastodon)

Bring your valid drivers license (or similar photo identification) and your IPFW network ID (your username) to the Walb Union customer service desk to have your new Mastodon Card issued. Your picture will be taken and a new card issued on the spot.

Getting a Parking Permit

An “A” parking permit will give you the most choices for parking. The fee can be deducted from your salary on a pre-tax basis. Take your university ID and your driver’s license to Police and Public Safety and apply for the permit. You will be given the permit to hang from the front view mirror in your vehicle. You must renew the permit every August.

Instructional Technologies

  • Go to the Information Technology Services Supported Permanent Stations page to find out if your classroom has a permanent teaching computer with digital display unit. If your classroom does not have installed technology, contact the Audio Visual Technology Services unit at (260) 481-6519 or complete the online form to reserve a mobile computer and projector. Please provide 24 hours of advance notice.
  • To get access to your Blackboard courses. All course sections for a given semester are automatically loaded into Blackboard Learn prior to the beginning of classes. You can access Blackboard tutorials from within Blackboard from your My Blackboard page. For assistance with Blackboard Learn, contact the ITS Help Desk at (260) 481-6030. You may also contact any of the User Technology Support Group: Scott Vitz at (260) 481-6198, Han Fei at (260) 481-6197, or Kathie Surface at (260) 481-6392.
  • Web space - to get an account on the “users” server, complete a “Computer Account Modification” form. Check “Web space” in the "Add Resources" section. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.
  • Download Instructions for posting your grades using OASIS (Word). OASIS allows faculty to view class lists, view students’ addresses and phone numbers, view class schedules for the term, authorize/ permit students into their courses, and submit final course grades.
