Using your Browser's Find Feature

This page explains how to utilize the find feature in certain web browsers. Please select the link for your browser from the list below for more information.

Internet Explorer 8

To utilize the find feature in Internet Explorer:

  1. Go to the web page where you would like to perform the search.
  2. Click on the downward arrow to the right of your search bar. (See photo below.)

  3. Select "Find on this page...". A search bar will pop up on the left-hand side of your browser, just below the tabs.
  4. Type in the keyword(s) that you would like to search for and hit "Return.". The browser will highlight all matches to your search in yellow and the first occurrence will be in white. By typing "Return" again, it will advance you to the next occurrence.

Google Chrome

  1. Go to the web page where you would like to perform the search.
  2. Click on the wrench icon at the left of your browser window, just below search bar. (See photo below.)

  3. Select "Find...". A search bar will appear just below the wrench icon.
  4. Type in the keyword(s) that you would like to search for and hit "Return.". The browser will highlight all matches to your search in yellow and the first occurrence will be in orange. By typing "Return" again, it will advance you to the next occurrence.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Go to the web page where you would like to perform the search.
  2. Click on "Edit" and then select "Find." A search bar will appear at the bottom corner of the browser window.
  3. Type in the keyword(s) that you would like to search for and hit "Return.". The browser will highlight the first match to your search. By typing "Return" again, it will advance you to the next occurrence.

Safari

  1. Go to the web page where you would like to perform the search.
  2. Click on the icon for the current document menu. This icon looks like a piece of paper with one corner folded down. It is located in the upper right-hand side of the browser window. (See photo below.)

  3. Select "Find...". A search bar will appear just below the document icon.
  4. Type in the keyword(s) that you would like to search for and hit "Return". The browser will highlight all matches to your search in white and the first occurrence will be in yellow. By typing "Return" again, it will advance you to the next occurrence.
