About This Guide
IPFW is dedicated not only to generating knowledge, but also to sharing it. This guide points you to experts on campus, but it is by no means an exhaustive list (see our Experts Index). If you have questions about topics not covered in this guide, or need assistance in getting a response, please contact us.
In addition to experts, the guide includes speakers available to civic and community groups. This information is listed at the bottom of each biography or in our Speakers Index. If no information appears, the faculty member does not desire speaking engagements.
To engage a speaker or expert:
- Call the speaker directly to discuss meeting date, time, location, and speaker's availability. Also discuss size of the audience, meal arrangements, the speech topic, the approximate length of the speech, and audio-visual needs.
- Follow your own policies regarding payment. An honorarium recognizes the time, talent, and energy of the speaker. The amount is up to you. Reimburse your speaker 32 cents per mile to and from your meeting. This reimbursement is required and should be given to the speaker at the engagement.
