• 1st Source Bank has promoted Luke Squires to vice president. He is a business banker with more than 15 years of banking experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree from IPFW.

• Asher Agency has hired Yvonne Sly as media coordinator. She is a Fort Wayne native and a North Side High School graduate, and she earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies from IPFW.

IPFW provides free interview training at annual job fair

Representatives from more than 70 employers will be at Indiana- University Purdue- University Fort Wayne (IPFW) on Monday in hopes of filling more than 2,800 jobs. The annual job fair is hosted by the university, along with Indiana Third District Congressman Marlin Stutzman.

IPFW alum and recent graduate assistant coach JW Kieckhefer has been promoted to assistant coach with the men's volleyball team under new coach Ryan Perrotte.

IPFW looks to get more students HPV vaccination

IPFW will hold an outreach program this fall to get more people protected against the Human Papilloma Virus. The university will work with the Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health to give the vaccine to students and people in the community.

Kieckhefer promoted to assistant men's volleyball coach

Coach Ryan “Rock” Perrotte announced that JW Kieckhefer, IPFW alum and most recent graduate assistant coach would fill the void left following Perrotte’s promotion to coach after the retirement of IPFW’s hall of fame coach Arnie Ball.

“These people agree 95 percent of the time with each other on the main issues,” IPFW political scientist Michael Wolf said about the GOP field. As a result, the debates could end up becoming a game of “beat up the incumbent,” he said, referring to Democratic President Barack Obama. “The common refrain is going to be anti-Obama.”

• Due to a recent expansion of the reciprocity agreement between Indiana's Commission for Higher Education and the Ohio Board of Regents, IPFW now offers Indiana in-state resident tuition rates to eight more Ohio counties closest to Fort Wayne: Allen, Auglaize, Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Putnam and Williams, bringing the total to 14. Students in Butler, Darke, Preble, Shelby, Mercer and Van Wert are also covered by the reciprocity agreement.

• The Environmental Resources Center at IPFW is conducting ecological research of a variety of animals, including conservation approaches to benefit local wildlife while improving the area landscape for riverfront development.

Citilink to offer school bus routes

University students have options, too, Kachmar said. Citilink is again offerings its campusLINK service, connecting the city’s Ivy Tech Community College main and north campuses, and IPFW.

U.S. Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-3rd) will hold his annual job fair next week at IPFW inside Walb Student Union.

IPFW University Police responded Monday morning to a report of a sexual assault in student housing at the Waterfield campus, where the suspect has been identified but not yet arrested, according to an alert sent out on the campus's emergency system. If anyone has information regarding this assault, they are asked to call 481-6827. University police would not release information. IPFW spokesman John Kaufeld said the report is under investigation.
