Academic Year Begins with Fall Convocation

ORT WAYNE, Ind.—The first day of the 2013–14 academic year at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will be highlighted by the annual Fall Convocation, Monday, August 26, at noon in Auer Performance Hall, Rhinehart Music Center.

Chancellor Vicky Carwein will welcome new faculty and administrative staff and give a “State of the Campus” address. The Vice Chancellors for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, and Financial and Administrative Affairs will outline the plans for the new academic year for their respective areas.

A number of awards will also be presented along with the announcement of faculty who have been promoted and/or gained tenure.

An informal information fair will precede the program at 11:30 a.m. in the lobby of the Rhinehart Music Center.

Members of the media are invited to attend the event, which is not open to the public.
