IPFW Programs Ranked by U.S. News & World Report among Best in Country

FORT WAYNE, Ind.— In its recently released rankings of the best colleges and universities in the United States, U.S. News and World Report deemed several programs at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) to be among the best in the country.

Those programs are:

  • #34 for online bachelor’s program (tied with Ball State; IU Bloomington was #72)
  • #58 for engineering where a doctorate is not offered (tied with Purdue Calumet; Trine was #114, Indiana Institute of Technology and Taylor tied at #134)
  • #129 for graduate nursing (Ball State was #152)
  • #149 for graduate public affairs (tied with Indiana State University and Oakland University; Ball State was unranked)

“Congratulations to our faculty, students, and staff,” said IPFW Chancellor Vicky Carwein. “This is a wonderful recognition of their efforts and a positive reflection on our university.”

The U.S. News and World Report listings also underscored the affordability of our degree programs. U.S. News and World Report showed our engineering program as the most affordable in northeast Indiana by a wide margin, with our in-state tuition and fees being two-thirds less than other schools in the area.

"Our engineering programs are not only affordable but also have a very dedicated faculty that strives to provide an excellent education, ensuring that our students graduate on time and go on to get well-paying jobs in the industry or be admitted into prestigious graduate schools," said Carlos Pomalaza-Ráez, interim dean of the College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science (ETCS).

Congratulations to all of these academic departments on earning these national accolades.
