IPFW Celebrates Mental Health Day October 10

FORT WAYNE, Ind.— Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will celebrate Mental Health Day on October 10, coinciding with National Depression Screening Day, by hosting an event titled "Who's Got Your Back? You, Me, and We!" in Walb Student Union, first floor, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event includes mental health screenings and an information fair, as well as four educational presentations:

  • Indiana Second Chance Law, 10:30–11:30 a.m.
  • Stress Management: The Art of Relaxation, 10:30–11:30 a.m.
  • Mental Health Self Care: Finding Your Balance, noon–1 p.m.
  • Stress Management: Mastodons In Motion (dress for movement), 1:30–2:30 p.m.

Mental Health Day is free and open to the public. Lunch will be served. IPFW Mental Health Day is sponsored by IPFW/Parkview Student Assistance Program; IPFW Center for Healthy Living: Campus Clinic and Wellness Programs; IPFW Peer Educator Program; IPFW Project Compass (Community Partners Against Student Suicide); IPFW Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs; and IPFW Student Government Association.
