FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Actress, New York Times bestselling author, and mom Marilu Henner will be taking the stage at the 2014 Tapestry: A Day for You as the keynote speaker. Tapestry takes place Friday, April 25, 2014, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
With the energy of a teenager and the wisdom of a sage, Marilu Henner is today's best example of a woman who does it all. Henner is a brilliant comedic actress, producer, best-selling author, health guru, and—most important—a wife and mom who is warm, funny, and unforgettable. It's no wonder she has earned the nickname "Perpetual Motion."
A five-time Golden Globe nominee, Henner has starred in over 30 films and television movies and a total of nine seasons on two highly successful Emmy award-winning classic TV sitcoms, Taxi and Evening Shade. Marilu has also starred in six hit Broadway Shows (including Grease, Chicago, Social Security, Over Here! and The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife) and has made over 2,000 talk show appearances. It’s no surprise that she won the “Talk Show Guest of the Year” award several years in a row.
In addition to her prolific acting career, for more than 20 years Henner has wholeheartedly lived a healthy lifestyle that has transformed the lives of thousands. She has testified in Congress six times on the issue of women’s cardiovascular health and is the author of eight bestselling books on health, parenting, and living life with GUSTO. She also has spoken to several hundred neurologists at the Cedars Sinai Board of Governors Healthcare College.
She is funny, dynamic, relatable, and totally committed to helping others become the person they want to be. Along with Henner’s non-stop energy and down-to-earth sense of humor, each presentation is packed with life-changing tips and strategies.
