FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Project #mobileEDU was unveiled at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) in August by Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs William McKinney. The project allows a 60-member faculty cohort to explore how using iPads in their classrooms can help re-imagine IPFW’s academic future.
Wednesday, November 9, at 12:45 p.m., the faculty from the Department of Accounting and Finance in the Richard T. Doermer School of Business, will receive iPads, thanks to the generosity of local accounting firm BKD. Stanley W. Davis, professor and department chair, said the department is the first entire department to be involved in the cohort. “We were able to involve ourselves as a full department as a result of the generous contributions received yearly from BKD. This is just one of many efforts that are funded by BKD; student scholarships and on-going faculty support for research, community service, and teaching engagements are also funded by their contributions,” said Davis.
The media is invited to the presentation of the iPads, Wednesday, November 9, at 12:45 p.m. in Neff Hall, Room 333.
