FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Members of the media are invited to attend a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) and Jiangsu University of Zhenjiang, China, Wednesday, December 7, at noon in Kettler Hall, Room 178.
Jiangsu University and IPFW are interested in pursing possible faculty and student exchanges, research exchanges, dual-degree programs, and other programs that may be of mutual interest. Jiangsu University has established long-term cooperative relationships with 44 other universities, educational, and/or research institutions around the world.
According to the university’s website, Jiangsu University is a teaching and research-oriented comprehensive university, with strong engineering disciplines. It is in one of the first groups of universities to offer doctoral programs and one of the top 100 universities in China. It currently has an enrollment of 42,000 students with a faculty of 4,700. The university is striving to grow into an open, teaching and research-oriented, high-quality comprehensive university with multidisciplinary harmony. It seeks to promote its strong engineering disciplines, some of which are first-rate in China and influential all over the world.
