IPFW Holds Fine Arts Faculty Exhibition

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne’s (IPFW) Department of Fine Arts is holding a special artist exhibition February 22 through March 23 in the Visual Arts Gallery on campus.

At a meeting on Friday, December 8, 2017, the Purdue Board of Trustees approved a change in the College of Visual and Performing Arts that combines the Department of Fine Arts and the Department of Visual Communication and Design to create the Department of Art and Design. Those changes will become effective July 1, 2018, when Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) becomes Purdue University Fort Wayne.* Before those changes take place, faculty members and emeriti from the Department of Fine Arts will exhibit their work as a group in a Fine Arts Faculty Exhibition.

Faculty artists who are taking part in the exhibition include:

  • Seth Green, assistant professor of ceramics
  • Dana Goodman, professor of fine arts (sculpture)
  • Audrey Ushenko, professor of fine arts (drawing and painting)
  • Christopher Ganz, associate professor of fine arts (printmaking and drawing)
  • John Hrehov, chair and professor of fine arts (drawing and painting)
  • Derek Decker, limited term lecturer of fine arts (ceramics)
  • Sara Nordling, limited term lecturer of fine arts (textiles)
  • Robert Schroeder, limited term lecturer of fine arts (metals)
  • Don Kruse, emeritus (painting)
  • Hector Garcia, emeritus (metals)
  • Nancy McCroskey, emeritus (ceramics)

Gallery hours are 8 a.m.–9 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. weekends

The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Members of the media will have an opportunity to interview the artists at the Artist Exhibition Reception on Thursday, February 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Visual Arts Gallery.
