 FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW)/Shruti Indian Performance Series is presenting Anoushka Shankar in concert on Sunday, March 26, in the Auer Performance Hall at the Rhinehart Music Center, located on the IPFW campus. Known around the world as a Sitar Virtuoso, Shankar will take the stage at 6 p.m. Tickets for the public are on sale now for $10 and can be purchased through the IPFW Box Office website or by calling 260-481-6555. IPFW students can attend for free with a current school ID.

According to her official biography, Shankar studied exclusively under her father, the legendary Ravi Shankar, from the age of nine and made her professional debut at age thirteen. By the time she was 20, she made three classical recordings for EMI/Angel, and received her first Grammy ® nomination, making her the first Indian female and youngest-ever nominee in the World Music category, according to the site. Shankar has received five Grammy ® Award nominations, a British House of Commons Shield recognition, and a Songlines Best Artist Award, and was also named an Asian Hero by TIME Magazine.
