FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Students from the Department of Human Services at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will display their senior projects in the Capstone Showcase on Wednesday, April 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Walb Union Classic Ballroom, Room 126.
The Capstone Showcase demonstrates the culmination of students' work and how their initiatives are addressing the needs of the northeast Indiana community and the social service agencies with which they are working.
Senior Human Services majors are required to develop a project from the ground up by assessing a need; conceiving of a project to address the need; then developing the framework, policies/procedures and proposing the marketing and fundraising efforts required for a successful roll-out of their program.
From noon to 12:30 p.m., Julie Hill-Lauer, a faculty member for the Department of Human Services and director of the DeKalb County United Way, will provide information about and facilitate a discussion on "Donor Relations on a Daily Basis." Lunch refreshments will be provided.
