FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) is holding a special Hats Off to Reading event to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss on Saturday, February 24. Storytime and other fun activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the bookstore in Walb Union.

"This is one of the bigger community events we host," said Jamie Sinninger, department manager of Follett's IPFW Bookstore. "It’s great for the campus and community because it exposes younger kids and their parents to the college setting, hopefully setting the stage for them to enroll as a student in the future."

The university is teaming up with PBS 39 for the annual Dr. Seuss Celebration. Faculty, staff, students, and members of the community will be reading books from the Dr. Seuss collections. Activities will include a visit from Cat in the Hat, face painting, an interactive Cat in the Hat game station, prizes, treats, and much more.

The event is free and open to the public.
