Five IPFW Sculpture with PurposeTM Bike Racks to be Installed Wednesday

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Five sculptural bike racks, all part of IPFW Sculpture with Purpose, the flagship 50th Celebration public art project for Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), will be installed today, (Wednesday, April 9) beginning at approximately noon. Members of the media are invited and encouraged to visit these installations.

The pieces and their locations are:

  • Art Deco by Benjamin Powers at 116 East Berry Street, to the left of Tower Bank's front door
  • Piggy by Benjamin Powers at the northeast corner of Wayne and Calhoun Streets.
  • Back in Time by IPFW at the southwest corner of Wayne and Calhoun Streets in front of Jimmy John's.
  • Picture Yourself by IPFW at the southwest corner of Washington Blvd. and Calhoun Street.
  • Pinwheel by Bob Kiel, on Washington Blvd. near the corner with Harrison Street.

Ruth Stone, IPFW Sculpture with Purpose project manager, can be reached tomorrow at 260-402-2490 to answer any questions about the project or the installations. Stone invites members of the media to "like" the project's Facebook page: facebook.com/IPFWSculptureWithPurpose. "By liking us on our Facebook page, the media and the public will be able to keep up to date on all the installations and other events surrounding this project," said Stone.
