Lights, Camera, Action! Panel to Discuss African American Women in Media

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—How have African American women changed the face of American mass media? Did they encounter roadblocks or discrimination in their journey? How did they handle them? These are just a few of the questions that will be discussed Wednesday, March 20, at “Lights, Camera, Action: African American Women in Media: Overcoming Discrimination and Changing the Face of American Mass Media,” noon to 1:15 p.m. in Walb Student Union, Room 114-116.

Panel members are:

  • Lisa Green, business editor at the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette
  • DeShawn Moore, founder/editor-in-chief, Moore Gospel Magazine and WQSW-LP 100.5 FM radio personality
  • Virginia Richardson, special projects manager at Indiana’s NewsCenter
  • Erin Rogers, multi-media journalist at WANE-TV

The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs (ODMA) and the Center for Women and Returning Adults (CWRA).
