Ann Nathan Gallery Exhibition Features IPFW Fine Arts Professor
(Fort Wayne, October 30, 2009) -- The Ann Nathan Gallery in Chicago is known worldwide for featuring established and strong emerging artists with a focus on figurative art and realism in all formats, including painting, sculpture, and unique functional furniture. The gallery has been at the forefront of contemporary art for 30 years. Christopher Ganz, professor of fine arts and printmaker at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), is currently being represented by the prestigious gallery.
Ganz won the best in show award for his work in the South Bend Museum of Art’s Biennial 25, May 30–Aug. 23, 2009. The exhibition spotlighted the works of 14 artists which were selected from over 200 submissions across seven Midwestern states. The South Bend Museum of Art also purchased one of Ganz’s drawings, “The Two-Way Mirror,” for their permanent collection.
Ganz’s drawing “Self Checkout” was featured at the Art Chicago: International Fair of Contemporary and Modern Art in the Ann Nathan Gallery exhibition space May 1–4. Ganz’s drawings were also displayed in Chicago at Ann Nathan Gallery’s group show in October.
Ganz organized a printmaking portfolio entitled “Identification Please” that was exhibited at the Southern Graphic Council National Printmaking Conference at Columbia College in Chicago, March 25–29, 2009. The portfolio contained prints from over 30 participants from across the United States, including current and recent IPFW fine arts printmaking students Rebecca Bailey, Katie Conner, Joshua Hoering, and Julie Wall.
