Local CPA Honored with Distinguished Alumni Award
(Fort Wayne, October 30, 2009) -- Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne’s (IPFW’s) Richard T. Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences has awarded its Distinguished Alumni Award to Jeff A. Taner, a certified public accountant (CPA) with Dulin, Ward, and Dewald Inc. (DWD). He graduated from IPFW in 1982 with a degree in business administration.
Taner, who has been with DWD since 1982, is its managing director. He has more than a quarter-century of experience providing accounting and auditing services to clients in the manufacturing, construction, wholesale, retail, and service industries.
The Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences has presented the Distinguished Alumni Award since 1979. The recipient of the award must have one or more degrees from within the Doermer School of Business, assumed positions of increasing responsibility in their field of endeavor, and contributed time and/or talent to IPFW and/or the community.
Taner is the treasurer of Vincent House, vice chair of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne, and a former member of the IPFW Doermer School of Business Alumni Council. He received the IPFW Top Alumni Volunteer Award in 2006 for his commitment and contributions to IPFW’s Alumni Association. He is a member of the Saint Joseph United Methodist Church, the YMCA, and the Fort Wayne Track Club.
