Your Child’s Temperament: IPFW Expert Offers Advice
(Fort Wayne, October 28, 2009) -- Parenting expert Bill Utesch, Ph.D., will discuss “Your Child’s Temperament” Monday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m. in Walb Student Union, Room 114. The lecture is part of the IPFW Child Care Center’s Parent Talk Series and is free and open to the public. Utesch will discuss a practical and positive way to improve parent-child relationships and strengthen parenting.
According to Utesch, all the great parenting techniques in the world will not be as effective if the relationship between parent and child is not healthy, safe, and supportive. Regardless of how much parents love their children, everyone has personalities that may or may not get along well together. Learn about a new way to “see” yourself and your children, resulting in a better way to be a parent.
Utesch is an associate professor and chair of professional studies at IPFW. He also directs the counselor education program. He is an Indiana Licensed School Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Indiana Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Indiana Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Sponsored by the IPFW Child Care Center and Preschool, Parent Talk is a lecture series open to IPFW students, faculty, and staff, and the public. There are two lectures each semester focusing on parenting issues. IPFW is an Equal Access/Equal Opportunity University.
