IU School of Medicine-Fort Wayne to be Dedicated at IPFW

(Fort Wayne, October 23, 2009) -- A dedication ceremony for the new Medical Education Center, which houses the Indiana University School of Medicine-Fort Wayne (IUSM-FW), will be held Friday, Oct. 30, at 1 p.m., in the Rhinehart Music Center (RMC) on the Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) campus.

Construction on the more than 41,000-square-foot building began in 2007, following the appropriation of $12 million from the State of Indiana to IU for the structure. The building was finished and furnished earlier this year. It features state-of-the-art lecture halls and laboratories for first through fourth year med school students, allied health students, and faculty research.

Following the dedication ceremony in RMC, a reception will be held in the Med Ed Center’s conference room.
